Built by a Captain,
for Firefighters
I'm Brian Williams, a 25-year career firefighter and Captain with the Kansas City Kansas Fire Department. StruckBox is the training platform I wished existed when I came up.
How This Started
I've been a career firefighter since 2001, the first few years at Leavenworth Fire Department in Kansas, and the rest of my career at Kansas City Kansas Fire Department (KCKFD), where I'm currently a Captain. Along the way I've earned my Firefighter I and II, Technical Rescue, and USAR certifications.
For twenty-plus years, I watched good firefighters sit through the same recycled PowerPoints every training cycle. Binders of outdated bulletins. Checkbox quizzes that had nothing to do with the decisions we were actually making on scene. The best training I ever got was around a kitchen table talking through a call. Nothing digital came close to that.
So I built this. StruckBox is the platform I wanted when I was a probie, a jake, and a company officer. Training that sounds like the fireground, not like a classroom.
The Mission
Make every firefighter better at their job. Not with more classroom hours, not with more checkboxes. With training that actually feels like the real thing. Voice-based scenarios where you practice giving a size-up under pressure. AI that tells you what you missed and how to improve. Decision points that teach you to think like an officer before you ever pin on the badge.
The fire service deserves training tools as sophisticated as the ones used by the military, aviation, and medicine. StruckBox is building that.

Standards-Based
Our content aligns with current NFPA professional qualification standards covering Firefighter I/II, Driver/Operator, Fire Officer, Fire Investigator, Fire Instructor, plus IFSTA Essentials (7th edition). When you train here, you're training to the standards your AHJ expects.
